istory of the club - Originally based in Walthamstow, the club was formed in October 1992.  The club was created to give single, like-minded people the opportunity to get together as friends to socialise and experience a variety of events and activities.  From these small beginnings, the club grew to around 300 members.

1998 Ownership of Amici passed to Lee & Jane, one of Amici's many success stories who tied the knot after meeting through the club, joining in 1994 & 1996 respectively. Under the stewardship of Lee & Jane, Amici's catchment area expanded considerably, as did the number and variety of events on offer.

2006 Launch of Amici Online. No longer restricted to a monthly newsletter and diary, news, events and updates are now accessed at the click of a mouse. With easy internet access for everyone, all members are instantly in touch with everyone - an online community to complement the face to face one. Members take on a more active role in the organisation and running of events.

August 2009 the reigns passed to Suzanne.  An Amici member since 1995, Suzanne brings her passion and enthusiasm to the next phase of Amici's evolution.  Keen for the club to flourish and grow, but ever-mindful of the basic principles upon which the club was founded - to create a safe & friendly environment for members to enjoy an active and rewarding social life.
